ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye's road motor vehicle registrations grew 16% in April compared to a year ago, the country's statistics authority revealed on Tuesday.
A total of 118,974 first- and second-hand vehicles were registered last month, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
On a monthly basis, motor vehicle registrations jumped 21.4% from March.
The total number of road motor vehicles registered to the traffic reached nearly 25.6 million by the end of April, TurkStat said.
Last month, automobiles accounted for most new registrations with 43.6%, while small trucks accounted for 11.3%. Motorcycles represented 36.7%.
In terms of distribution of model brands for new registered cars in the month, Renault recorded 19.1%, Volkswagen 11.0%, Fiat 9.8%, Toyota 8.3%, and Hyundai 6.7%.
