HAKKARI, Turkey (AA) - Turkish security forces killed two PKK terrorists in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Monday, the city governorate has said.

According to a statement issued by Hakkari Governorate, Turkish forces warned a PKK terrorist group before security teams responded to gunfire in Hakkari's Semdinli district.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, nearly 600 security personnel, including troops, police officers and village guards, have been martyred, and more than 7,700 PKK terrorists neutralized in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
