IDLIB, Syria (AA) – Two Syrian media activists were killed Friday by unknown gunmen in Syria’s northern Idlib province, according to Syrian opposition sources.
Masked attackers in a car instantly killed the two activists -- identified as Raed al-Fares and Hamoud al-Junaid -- in the town of Kafr Nubl in Idlib’s southern countryside, the sources told Anadolu Agency.
The gunmen fled the scene after the attack, the same sources added.
Al-Junaid, a cameraman, had covered anti-regime demonstrations in Kafr Nubl, while al-Fares was known as a prominent anti-regime activist.
Al-Fares had also worked for several media outlets and was serving as the director of Kafr Nubl’s opposition-affiliated media office.
