ANKARA (AA) - The UK's gross domestic product (GDP) growth in 2021 was revised down by 0.1 percentage point to 7.4% reflecting the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the official final reading released on Thursday.

This was the highest annual growth rate registered since World War II, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said in a statement.

In the fourth quarter of last year, the UK economy grew 1.3% from the previous quarter, upwardly revised from the first estimate of 1.0%. This was mainly due to the quarterly increase in services and construction output.

The quarter-on-quarter figure showed that the country's GDP is now 0.1% below its pre-coronavirus levels.
