LONDON (AA) - A 23-year-old man in the UK on Friday has been found guilty of a public order offense after throwing five eggs at King Charles and Queen Consort during a visit to York last year.
The incident took place on Nov. 9 in York, northeast England where the royal couple were on a walkabout.
Although all the eggs missed the British monarch, Patrick Thelwell was charged with threatening behavior.
During his trial at York Magistrates' Court, Thelwell admitted to throwing the eggs but claimed it was "lawful violence."
However, the judge found him guilty of intending to cause the King to believe that he would use immediate unlawful violence against him.
In another incident in December, Harry May, who is 21 years old, attacked King Charles with an egg during his visit to Luton.
In January, May was fined £100 (nearly $125) and ordered to pay £85 for this offense.
