ANKARA (AA) - Ukraine on Thursday launched the High Anti-Corruption Court with the participation of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"I cannot set you a task. As a citizen, I feel that the task of the Supreme Anticorruption Court is very simple: the corrupt official is punished while the state, society and investor are protected," Zelensky was quoted as saying in a statement.
Zelensky said some people tried to block the work of the court by "filling it up" with thousands of small cases.
The president persistently said that he wants not only to fight corruption but overcome it.
Meanwhile, the EU, which supports Kiev's fight against corruption, congratulated Ukraine for the court.
"We will continue supporting the Court in fulfilling its important role in the fight against corruption," the EU delegation in Ukraine said on Twitter.
