ISTANBUL (AA) – French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou and Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal agreed in Paris on a new €200 million ($228 million) aid package for Ukraine’s reconstruction and integration into the European market.
The French government also confirmed €1.5 billion in export credit guarantees to support French companies investing in Ukraine, Shmyhal said after the meeting.
“I am grateful to the prime minister for the support of French companies wishing to invest in Ukraine,” he said in a social media post.
Both sides agreed to organize a joint Cabinet meeting and are preparing new agreements on cooperation in the defense industrial complex, critical raw materials, and strategic sectors.
“I thanked him for his comprehensive support for Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war,” Shmyhal added.
France has provided consistent support for Ukraine since the Russian war in 2022, backing military, economic, and reconstruction efforts while promoting bilateral industrial ties.
