ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a substantive meeting Tuesday with a NATO Parliamentary Assembly delegation to discuss ways to deepen defense cooperation and strengthen Ukraine’s defense industry.

Shmyhal emphasized the effectiveness of the Danish model in supporting the Ukrainian defense sector and proposed expanding that approach.

“Europe, the United States and Ukraine must work together to build a just and lasting peace,” he said, expressing gratitude for NATO’s support for Ukraine.

The meeting comes as Kyiv seeks to bolster its domestic defense capabilities amid Russia’s war, relying increasingly on cooperation with Western allies to maintain military resilience.
