ISTANBUL / MOSCOW (AA) - One person was found dead on Wednesday from a fire that broke out in a market in St. Petersburg, Russia.
"Unfortunately, one person was found dead during the firefighting process," the Russian Emergency Ministry press service told state-run news agency Tass.
The blaze started at a market building in the Nevsky district of the Baltic port city.
A highly flammable substance inside the building caused an intense fire to spread, engulfing nearly 1,500 square meters (16,146 square feet), according to a ministry statement.
The statement added that 96 firefighters and 26 pieces of equipment are continuing work to put out the flames at the market.
