UPDATES DEATH TOLL; ADDS DETAILS; CHANGES DECK, HEADLINE

AMMAN (AA) – Three people lost their lives on Friday in flashfloods in northwestern Jordan, an official said.
According to government spokeswoman Jumana Ghunaimat, two women and a girl were killed in Madaba province as their vehicle was swept away by a flashflood.
Ghunaimat stated that 60 people have been evacuated and nine injured were hospitalized including some in critical condition.
Also, in Petra historic area, 3,760 tourists had been evacuated due to the severe weather, according to Ghunaimat.
Last month, at least 21 people were killed in a rash of severe flashflooding in Jordan’s western Dead Sea region.
