ANKARA (AA) – A gunman in Paris opened fire on Friday, killing at least three people and injuring three others, local media reported.
A 69-year-old man, the suspected gunman, was placed in custody after he fired gunshots on the Enghien street in the center of Paris.
Police on Twitter called on people to avoid the area.
Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau, who visited the scene, said the suspect carried out two attacks in the past, including one against people staying in the tents in Paris. He was recently released.
An investigation has been launched for homicide, attempted homicide and deliberate armed violence acts, Beccuau added.
Suspected racist motivations behind attack will be investigated, she also said.
