GAZA CITY, Palestine/ISTANBUL (AA) - Three Palestinians were killed and five injured Thursday by Israeli army gunfire and airstrikes in the Gaza Strip despite a ceasefire, according to medical sources.

Israeli forces shot and killed two Palestinians east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza as military vehicles opened fire in eastern areas of the city, said a medical source.

The killings occurred amid continued Israeli violations of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas that took effect on Oct. 10, 2025.

The medical official said that a man was shot near the Sheikh Nasser area, near to what is known as the “Yellow Line,” east of Khan Younis.

The “Yellow Line,” established under the ceasefire agreement, separates Israeli military deployment zones, covering more than 50% of Gaza’s territory, from areas to the west where Palestinians are permitted to move.

Witnesses said the shooting coincided with heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles positioned east of Khan Younis.

A second Palestinian was killed by Israeli gunfire in the same city, outside areas of Israeli military deployment, said another medical source at Nasser Hospital.

Separately, medical sources told Anadolu that the body of Hussam Abu Karim and five wounded victims arrived at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza after they were targeted by a missile from an Israeli drone near the Makki roundabout in the Maghazi camp.

In the southern city of Rafah, Israeli forces continued demolishing residential buildings north of the city, where explosions were heard and plumes of smoke were seen rising, according to eyewitnesses.

Since the ceasefire took effect in early October, Israeli actions have killed 492 Palestinians and wounded 1,356 others.

The agreement ended a two-year Israeli war that killed more than 71,600 Palestinians and wounded 171,300. The assault destroyed roughly 90% of the civilian infrastructure in Gaza, with UN estimates placing reconstruction costs at about $70 billion.
