ANKARA (AA) – In a second air operation Monday in northern Iraq, Turkish jets killed an additional 23 PKK terrorists, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) announced.
The military said the air operation had occurred in northern Iraq’s Zap region.
Earlier on Monday, the Turkish military had conducted an air operation in the same area, killing 11 PKK terrorists.
More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
