GAZA CITY, Palestine / ISTANBUL (AA) – At least nine people were killed, and scores injured in renewed Israeli attacks across the war-torn Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to medics and witnesses.

Medical sources told Anadolu that Israeli forces struck a civilian gathering in western Gaza City, killing one Palestinian and injuring others.

Three more Palestinians lost their lives, and several were injured in airstrikes targeting northwestern Gaza City.

Four people from the same family were also killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

In the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian woman lost her life to Israeli gunfire in Hamad Town in Khan Younis. Israeli artillery also shelled several areas near the town, witnesses said.

The fatalities occurred as the Israeli army continued detonating homes and residential buildings via booby-trapped devices amid heavy bombardment on northwestern Gaza City, according to an Anadolu correspondent.

The attacks came as the city was experiencing a communication and internet blackout imposed by Israel for the second consecutive day, causing fear and a sense of isolation among Palestinians.

The Israeli army has continued a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip, killing more than 65,100 Palestinians since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine.

On Tuesday, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory confirmed that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza.
