ISTANBUL (AA) – At least 22 Palestinians, including children and women, were killed and several others injured in fresh Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, medics said.

Four people, including a child, lost their lives in Israeli shelling in Jabalia and Khan Younis in northern and southern Gaza, a medical source told Anadolu.

The official news agency Wafa, citing medical sources, said 18 people were killed and several others injured in a strike targeting a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians inside a school in Khan Younis.

Several children were among the victims, Wafa said.

Medics confirmed that the bodies of 14 victims were transferred to the Nasser Medical Complex in the city, while 12 people were injured in the attack.

The Israeli army also fired at homes in the Qizan al-Najjar area in southern Khan Younis and the northeastern areas of Gaza City, WAFA said. No reports have emerged yet about casualties.

The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing more than 54,500 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war crimes against civilians in the enclave.
