ANKARA (AA) - Bayern Munich defeated Wolfsburg 3-2 on Saturday to go seven points clear at the top of Germany's Bundesliga.

Jamal Musiala scored twice and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting found the net for the visitors as Wout Weghorst responded to make the score 3-1 in the first half.

In the second half, Maximilian Philipp pulled a goal back for the home side but Wolfsburg's efforts were not enough to equalize the game which ended 2-3 at the Volkswagen Arena.

Bayern Munich consolidated their lead with 68 points, seven points ahead of second-placed RB Leipzig, who held to a 0-0 draw at home to Hoffenheim on Friday.

Wolfsburg are in third spot with 54 points.

- Flick tells club he wants to leave at end of season

Following the match, Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick said he told the club that he wants to terminate his contract at the end of the 2020-2021 season.

"It was important for me that the team hears this from me," Flick, who has two years remaining on his contract, added.

The 56-year-old German head coach guided Bayern Munich to win Bundesliga and Champions League trophies since he took charge of the Bundesliga club in November 2019.

Flick has been linked with the German national team as current manager Joachim Low will leave after UEFA EURO 2020 this summer.
