ISTANBUL (AA) – Nine people were killed and four others injured in a building collapse in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Monday, according to local media.

A 4-storey building collapsed in Hadayek el Kobba neighborhood in Cairo, Youm7 newspaper reported.

Civil defense forces rushed to the site of the collapsed building to extract the victims from under the rubble.

On Sunday, four people lost their lives and 13 others were injured in another building collapse in northern Egypt.

Last month, 10 people were killed when their 13-storey building collapsed in the coastal city of Alexandria.
