CANAKKALE, Türkiye (AA) – The Canakkale Strait in northwestern Türkiye has reopened to transit ships after a brief halt due to heavy fog, authorities said on Thursday.

The strait traffic resumed after the dense fog dispersed.

The fog that became denser in the morning reduced visibility for sea travel.

According to the traffic authorities of the strait, the captains of the ships entering from north and south were warned that the strait was closed to two-way transit ships.
