WASHINGTON (AA) - The Cannon Air Force Base (AFB) in the US state of New Mexico lifted a lockdown on Friday after reports of an active shooter.
"All clear," the base said in a statement.
Earlier, it said the base was "currently executing active shooter protocol."
The AFB security forces secured the area of concern and conducted sweeps across base, the statement said, adding there were no reported injuries or suspects.
"The safety of Air Commandos and families is our highest priority -- and we take reports of an active shooter seriously," said US Air Force Col. Robert Johnston.
