UPDATE - Delta Airlines plane crashes upon landing in Toronto, multiple injuries reported

'All passengers and crew are accounted for,' says airport

HAMILTON, Canada (AA) - Multiple people were reportedly injured after a Delta Airlines plane arriving from the US city of Minneapolis crashed Monday at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

"Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for," said the airport on X.

According to a report from CTV News, at least 15 people have been injured and police are on the scene investigating the incident.

The report also confirmed that three of the injured passengers, including a child, sustained critical injuries.

Canada's Transportation Minister Anita Anand said in a post on X that all 80 passengers onboard are accounted for.

"I’m closely following the serious incident at the Pearson Airport involving Delta Airlines flight 4819 from Minneapolis," she added.

Video footage and images from the incident revealed that the plane landed upside down.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford said on X that there are “no casualties,” adding that "provincial officials are in contact with the airport and local authorities and will provide any help that’s needed."
