GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - At least nine Palestinians were killed and several injured in two Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip late Wednesday.
Civil defense crews recovered the bodies of five people after a strike that targeted a group of civilians near Gaza Municipality Park in the city center.
Four more bodies were brought to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital following an Israeli airstrike on Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, a medical source told Anadolu.
The Israeli army targeted a house in western Deir al-Balah, destroying it and causing damage to nearby homes, eyewitnesses told Anadolu.
They added that the airstrike resulted in fatalities and injuries, while rescue teams continued searching for missing people under the rubble.
The Israeli army has continued a genocidal war on Gaza that has killed almost 46,000 people, mostly women and children, since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.
In November last year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
