PARIS (AA) - There are no victims after an avalanche hit the French ski resort of Tignes on Tuesday morning, French media reported.

The search and rescue was operation has been completed, and no one was found trapped under the snow as previously feared, France Info TV said, citing officials at the Haute-Savoie ski resort.

Earlier, local gendarmerie and initial media reports said several skiers were feared buried under the snow.

Only a few skiers have been "jostled" by the impact of the avalanche, the TV network added.

The avalanche struck the Carline ski slope just after 10.00 a.m. local time (0800GMT).

On February 13, an avalanche left four skiers dead after a mass of snow swept them away in the resort of Tignes.
