ANKARA (AA) – Police officers who shot dead a reportedly threatening homeless man on Sunday were taken into custody in Paris, local media reported on Monday.
The police arrived at the 11th district of Paris after a report that there was a man walking around with a gun, on Sunday evening, the daily Le Parisien said.
The 49-year-old homeless man did not talk to the police, but was acting threatening, with a fake weapon in his hand, forensic sources noted.
When the suspect pointed the gun at the police, the police opened fire on him, and the man, hit by four bullets in the chest, died.
The police officers who shot the man have been taken into custody and an investigation is initiated for "intentional violence resulting in death, without intention to give it."
