ATHENS (AA) - Pro-West candidate Nicusor Dan on Sunday is leading with over 51% of the vote in the Romanian election runoff with over 75% of votes counted so far, according to the country's election authority.

Dan won over 51.8% of the votes against far-right candidate George Simion’s 48.1%, according to the data released by the Romanian Permanent Electoral Authority.

The turnout rate was 64.7%, according to the election authority.
