Incident in southern Hatay province leaves over a dozen other people injured

HATAY, Turkey (AA) – The death toll from Friday’s road crash in southern Turkey has reached 10 after two people injured in the accident died in hospital.

Nine Syrian nationals and one Turkish citizen lost their lives in the traffic accident in the Yayladagi district of Turkey's southern Hatay province.

The accident happened when a minibus crashed after a tire burst.

District mayor Mehmet Kalkan said the vehicle had been carrying people who had illegally entered Turkey from Syria.
