BAGHDAD (AA) - A military base housing US troops in western Iraq was attacked with rockets on Wednesday, the Iraqi Defense Ministry said.

In a statement, the ministry said 10 Grad missiles landed on the Ain Al-Asad air base in Anbar province, adding the attack “did not cause any significant losses.”

It said a rocket launcher was found, without giving further details.

Maj. Gen. Tahsin al-Khafaji, the spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, told Anadolu Agency that missiles landed in the vicinity of the base, leaving no human or material damage.

He said security forces are conducting investigations into the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Ain al-Assad accommodates US troops and was visited by former President Donald Trump on Dec. 26, 2018.
