ANKARA (AA) - Spain will go to polls in April for early general elections, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced on Friday.
The snap elections decision was taken during the extraordinary Cabinet meeting earlier today.
The early polls will be held before the municipal, regional and European Parliament elections on May 26.
The early elections decision came after Wednesday's rejection at the parliament of the 2019 budget plan proposed by the socialist government of Sanchez.
The general elections were due to be held in 2020.
