ANKARA/LONDON (AA) - Swedish deputy police chief Mats Lofving, who has been under investigation, was found dead in his home in eastern Norrkoping city, according to media reports on Thursday.
In a statement, the police said they were notified in the evening about the presence of a wounded person inside the home.
The cause of the death remains unknown, the statement said, adding that an investigation is underway.
Lofving, who was also the regional head of Stockholm police, had been investigated for a conflict of interest regarding his relationship with a former employee, according to Radio Sweden.
