TUNISIA (AA) - One policeman was killed as two suicide bombers blew themselves up near the U.S. Embassy in the Tunisian capital, state media reported Friday.
The attack targeted a security checkpoint near the embassy in Tunis, the official TAP news agency reported, citing a civil protection source.
The blast left five security officials injured, while one of them shortly succumbed to his wounds, according TAP which quoted the Interior Ministry. A civilian was also slightly injured, it added.
The Buhayra region of the capital, where the U.S. Embassy is located, is home to many diplomatic missions as well as agencies of international institutions and organizations.
