ANKARA (AA) - Two-time World Cup winners Uruguay, and Ecuador sealed their places at the 2022 World Cup on Friday.
Giorgian de Arrascaeta's goal gave Uruguay a 1-0 won against Peru on Thursday, increasing the nation’s points to 25 points in the third place.
Despite losing 3-1 to Paraguay, Ecuador also booked their spot at World Cup in Qatar with 25 points.
Peru, Colombia and Chile will fight for the fifth place against the fourth-round playoff winner from the Asian World Cup qualifying group.
South American giants Brazil and Argentina have already qualified for the World Cup, staying at top of the standings.
