WASHINGTON (AA) - The US State Department approved the possible sale of communications equipment and related elements to the Czech Republic, the Pentagon said Monday.

The estimated cost is $181 million.

"The proposed sale will support the ongoing transformation of the Czech Armed Forces into a modern military that is properly trained, well equipped, and interoperable with U.S. and other NATO forces," it said in a statement.

The principal contractor will be L3Harris Global Communications, Inc., located in Rochester, New York.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale Monday.
