Secretary of state, defense secretary, CIA director and top general to brief all members, according to local media

WASHINGTON (AA) - Senior Trump administration officials will brief Congress on Tuesday about ongoing military operations against Iran, local media reported Sunday.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff will brief the full membership of both the House and Senate.

The planned closed-door meetings come after US and Israeli strikes on Iran, which led to the death of the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and many other top security officials.

Iran, in response, launched drone and missile attacks on Israel and US assets in the region.

Several US lawmakers came out against the US-Israeli strikes, demanding an immediate congressional vote to stop what they called an illegal war launched without proper authorization.
