KABUL, Afghanistan (AA) - A U.S. drone airstrike killed eight suspected pro-Daesh militants in eastern Nangarhar province late Monday, according to police Tuesday.
This is the second such attack in two consecutive days in the province.
In a statement, police in Nangarhar said the drone had targeted a hideout of suspected Daesh militants in Nazian district.
A large cache of arms and ammunition were also destroyed, it added.
In the previous attack, police spokesman Hazrat Hussain told Anadolu Agency, a U.S drone struck a car in Haska Maina district late Sunday, killing five passengers, who were believed to be militants.
