ANKARA (AA) - US factory orders were flat in August, in line with market forecast, according to the Commerce Department on Tuesday.
"New orders for manufactured goods in August, down two consecutive months, decreased less than $0.1 billion or virtually unchanged to $548.4 billion," it said.
Led by transportation equipment, new durable goods orders decreased $0.5 billion, or 0.2%, to $272.7 billion -- unchanged from the previously published decrease.
Transportation equipment, also down two consecutive months, dove $1.0 billion or 1.1% to $92.0 billion.
On the other hand, new orders for manufactured nondurable goods rose $0.5 billion, or 0.2% to $275.7 billion in August.
