WASHINGTON (AA) - The US House of Representatives passed its final four appropriations bills Thursday, moving Congress a step closer to averting a partial government shutdown at the end of the month.

Lawmakers approved a sprawling minibus package funding Defense, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Labor, Education and Health and Human Services in a 341-88 vote.

A separate measure to fund the Department of Homeland Security cleared the chamber 220-207.

The votes came as the House prepared to consider a war powers resolution aimed at curbing further US military action in Venezuela.
