ANKARA (AA) – The number of Americans filing first-time unemployment claims last week declined by 15,000 to 214,000, the US Labor Department said on Thursday.
The previous week’s level was revised up by 2,000 from 227,000 to 229,000, it said in a statement.
The four-week moving average was 223,000, a decrease of 8,750 from the previous week’s revised average, it added.
The US economy added 678,000 jobs in February and the unemployment rate fell to 3.8%, according to the department’s latest figures.
