ISTANBUL (AA) - The number of Americans filing first-time unemployment claims fell by 2,000 last week to 190,000, according to Labor Department data released on Thursday.
The figure was lower than estimates of 195,000, while the previous week's figure was unrevised at 192,000.
The four-week moving average was 193,000, an increase of 1,750 from the previous week's unrevised average of 191,250.
The US economy added 517,000 jobs in January, while the unemployment rate fell to 3.4% from 3.5% the previous month, according to the agency.
