ANKARA (AA) - The number of Americans filing first-time unemployment claims last week rose by 11,000 to 227,000, the US Labor Department said on Thursday.
The previous week’s level was revised up by 1,000 from 215,000 to 216,000, it said in a statement.
The four-week moving average was 231,250, an increase of 500 from the previous week's revised average, it added.
US economy added 678,000 jobs in February and the unemployment rate fell to 3.8%, according to the department’s latest figures.
