ANKARA (AA) – The number of Americans filing first-time unemployment claims last week rose 14,000 to 202,000, the US Labor Department said on Thursday.
The previous week’s level was revised up by 1,000 from 187,000 to 188,000, it said in a statement.
The four-week moving average was 208,500, a drop of 3,500 from the previous week’s revised average, it added.
The US economy added 678,000 jobs in February and the unemployment rate fell to 3.8%, according to the department’s latest figures.
