DOHA (AA) – Qatar’s Defense Ministry on Thursday announced the conclusion of joint security exercises carried out with the U.S. and Jordanian militaries.
“These drills, which are held periodically between the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner countries, are intended to test our response to cross-border security threats,” the Defense Ministry said in an earlier statement.
The just-concluded military exercises were also intended to bolster security ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which Qatar is set to host in late 2022.
