ISTANBUL (AA) - New home sales in the US reached 652,000 units in July, above market forecasts, according to US Census Bureau data released on Wednesday.
The markets expected the figure to come in at 635,000 for the month.
Despite the upbeat figure, the figure fell 0.6% month-on-month in July compared to June's upwardly revised rate of 656,000 units.
Meanwhile, on a yearly basis, the number of houses sold in July also dropped 8.2% from July 2024's figure of 710,000.
The agency said the median sales price of new houses in July was $403,800, down 0.8% compared to June.
The average sales price of the new houses in July was $487,300, falling 3.6% month-on-month.
