US producer prices up 2.6% in May

Monthly increase at 0.1% in May, according to US Bureau of Labor Statistics

ISTANBUL (AA) - Producer prices in the US were up by 2.6% in May on a yearly basis, in line with market expectations, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics announced on Thursday.

In April, the producer prices increased by 2.4%, according to official figures.

On a monthly basis, the producer prices went up by 0.1%, the bureau stated.

The increase in the index for final demand stemmed from prices for final demand services, which advanced 0.1%.

The index for final demand goods rose 0.2%.

Prices for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services edged up 0.1% in May.
