ISTANBUL (AA) - The US manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) exceeded expectations in October, reaching 52.2, according to data provided by S&P Global on Friday.
The PMI rose 0.2 points compared to the previous month, from 52 in September.
The index was forecast to reach 51.9.
The US service sector PMI also rose one point month-on-month to 55.2, surpassing expectations of 53.5.
The index, which signals expansion in the services sector, was 54.2 in September.
The composite PMI, which covers the manufacturing and services sectors, rose 0.9 points on a monthly basis in October to 54.8.
