WASHINGTON (AA) - US forces, alongside Qatar, "successfully" defended against an Iranian ballistic missile attack targeting the US military's Al Udeid Air Base near Doha, Qatar, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said Monday.
"Thanks to the professional, competent, rapid and coordinated response of U.S. and Qatari forces, the ballistic missile attack was defeated by U.S. and Qatari Patriot batteries and there were no casualties to American or Qatari personnel," CENTCOM said on X.
The Iranian missile attack came after US attacks on key Iranian nuclear sites early Sunday ordered by President Donald Trump.
Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, the commander of CENTCOM, said the US will continue to "aggressively" defend its service members and partners in the region.
"Our adversaries should have no doubt about our resolve or our capabilities," he added.
