WASHINGTON (AA) - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud held a phone call to discuss regional issues, the State Department said Monday.
They "discussed Ukraine and Russia talks, stabilization in Syria, and the situation in Gaza," spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in a statement.
Rubio also thanked Bin Farhan for Saudi Arabia's hospitality during President Donald Trump's visit, she added.
Trump held his first-ever summit with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa last month in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
He also announced during the 2025 Saudi-US Investment Forum that he would order the removal of “brutal and crippling” US sanctions on Syria to give that country “a chance at greatness.”
