WASHINGTON (AA) - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy discussed the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict in a phone call Monday.
Rubio and Lammy "reaffirmed their commitment to staying in close contact and encouraging a diplomatic path that ensures Iran never develops a nuclear weapon," the State Department said in a statement.
Tensions have escalated since Friday, when Israel launched coordinated airstrikes and drone attacks on multiple sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes.
