WASHINGTON (AA) - The US Senate on Wednesday confirmed Scott Turner to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
President Donald Trump's pick was confirmed in a 55-44 vote, becoming the 12th nominee greenlighted by the upper chamber.
During his confirmation hearing last month, Turner said the US needs housing for individuals and families to "have a roof over their head and to call home."
"The Point-in-Time report that was sent out by HUD on December the 27th said there was 770,000 Americans homeless on one night in January of 2024, ,,, This cannot continue," he said.
