ISTANBUL (AA) - The US Senate passed a resolution Thursday aimed at ending President Donald Trump's global tariffs.
S.J.Res.88 was passed in a 51-47 vote, aiming to terminate the national emergency declared to impose the tariffs.
Joining the Democrats, four Republican Senators including Rand Paul, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins and Mitch McConnell voted in favor.
The four Senators had earlier in the week voted for separate resolutions rejecting Trump’s tariffs on Canada and Brazil.
Despite Senate approval, the measures are expected to stall in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, which has moved to block any effort to overturn Trump’s tariffs.
