NEW YORK (AA) - The U.S. stock market opened flat on the first trading day of the new week on Monday.
The Dow rose by a point to begin trading at 21,008 points, and the S&P 500 added less than a point to open at 2,400 points.
The Nasdaq increased by 2 points to start trading at 6,102 points.
The pro-EU centrist Emmanuel Macron scored a decisive win over the far-right Front National leader, Marine Le Pen, to become France's new president on Sunday.
Analysts said Macron's victory calmed investors' worries over a potential breakup of the eurozone or the European Union.
