NEW YORK (AA) - The U.S. stock market opened higher Thursday with a rise in shares of technology firms.
The Dow added 11 points to begin the day at 21,421 points and the S&P 500 rose one point to 2,436 points.
The Nasdaq climbed nine points to start trading at 6,243 points.
At the first bell, American tech giants Oracle and IBM saw their stock price gain by 9.4 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively.
